Michael J. Maddox

President, Northeast Kansas Region
INTRUST Bank, NA

Michael J. Maddox attended the University of Kansas and graduated with a degree in Business in 1991. Mike graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1994. In 2003, Mike graduated from the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wis. While at KU Mike was a four-year letterman on the KU basketball team that won a National Championship in 1988. Mike was a captain of the 1991 KU team that was the national runner-up.

After law school, Mike worked for the Stevens & Brand law firm in Lawrence, Kan., where he practiced for three years. In 1996, Mike left the Stevens & Brand firm to start his own firm, Skepnek and Maddox. Mike’s practice focused primarily on product liability defense. Most of Mike’s time was spent handling cases in Texas and Louisiana. Mike was hired by INTRUST Bank in February of 2000 to be the Community Bank President for Lawrence, Kan. Mike’s main focus was in the area of commercial banking services. In 2002, Mike was promoted to Regional Sales Manager for INTRUST and managed commercial banking for the Kansas City, Lawrence, and Topeka markets. In 2004, Mike was promoted to Regional President and manages all banking operations in Northeast Kansas for INTRUST. Mike oversees a region with over $300 million in total assets and a team of close to 100 employees.

Mike is involved in a number of community activities and sits on the boards of the following organizations: Kansas City Area Development Council, Kansas Chamber of Commerce, University of Kansas Athletic Corporation, University of Kansas School of Business. Lawrence/Douglas County Economic Development Board. He is also a graduate of the Leadership Lawrence Class of 2000 and the Centurions class of 2004.

Mike has been married to Bonnie for almost 15 years. They have three kids Jamie, 10, Sara, 7, and Anderson, 5.
