Dr. Bill Brown

Health Services Veterinarian
Monsanto

Currently Dr. Bill Brown serves as a Health Services Veterinarian, Monsanto Choice Genetics, A Monsanto Company in St. Louis, Mo. He has overall responsibility for the health management of several swine farms in the United States and Canada. His responsibilities include creating and implementing plans for diagnostics, disease surveillance, herd health and biosecurity audits, providing technical support to sales and marketing personnel, vaccination and medication procedures, and customer support. The job allows Dr. Brown to facilitate interaction with a large number of people across many different disciplines in fields of production, food safety, epidemiology, diagnostics, genetics, biotechnology, academia, research, and regulatory medicine.

Dr. Brown owned and operated two mixed animal practices in Southwest Kansas in the early part of his career with emphasis on food animal production. In the last the last 15 years, he has worked for Monsanto. He is also a Colonel in the United States Army Veterinary Corps and a graduate from the U.S. Army War College with a Masters in Strategic Studies. He has attended the Foreign Animal Disease Diagnosticians Course and is a Diplomat American College of Preventive Medicine. During the first Gulf War Operation Desert Storm/Shield, he was assigned to the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, Ft. Dietrick, Maryland to work with the Equine Botulinum Project.
