In October 2005, Angela Kreps was selected from an extensive nationwide search to serve as the first president of the Kansas Bioscience Organization. Within her first year, Kreps published the Kansas Bioscience and Innovation Roadmap, developed a monthly bioscience industry newsletter, and produced the Kansas Bioscience magazine. She also brought together a record-setting Kansas delegation to attend the international BIO convention, including Governor Sebelius, state legislators, the Kansas Bioscience Authority, as well as bioscience CEOs, researchers and stakeholders from all across the state.
Kreps regularly meets with statewide and national investors, policy makers, economic development and industry leaders who share common vision and goals. Through these relationships, she tripled the size of the KansasBio organization and established educational and advocacy programs to highlight the bioscience industry in Kansas. Kreps serves on Senator Pat Roberts’ Advisory Committee on Science, Technology and the Future as well as the Biotechnology Industry Organization’s Agriculture Biotechnology Committee.
Kreps, a Hugoton, Kan., native, graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communications. Upon graduation, she commenced a 16-year career as a sales and marketing professional with such organizations as First Bank Card Center (INTRUST Bank), Wichita; Data Center, Inc., (DCI), Hutchinson; and Automatic Data Processing, Inc.(ADP), Lenexa as a nationally recognized Major Accounts District Manager.
