A 45-person coalition -- led by Governor Kathleen Sebelius, the Kansas Bioscience Authority, and other Kansas advocates -- is dedicated to ensuring that this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build a federally funded, state-of-the-art, 500,000 square foot National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) becomes a reality for Kansas.
The Task Force: Appointed by executive order, the Kansas NBAF Task Force includes a choice team of your neighbors, leading scientists, civic leaders, elected officials, industry leaders, farmers, and agricultural specialists who are directing efforts to secure a “heartland home” for NBAF.
The Mission: The mission of the Kansas NBAF Task Force is to develop a compelling case for federal officials to choose the Manhattan, Kan., site for the facility. The task force is also charged with educating the public and coordinating community outreach and advocacy for the project.
